I'm a hacker in my thirties, living in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, right on the language border that separates its French and German speaking sides.
I'm:
- an electronics and software engineer
- multilingual, with French as my mother tongue, German in my day-to-day life, and English at work
- a big fan of Free and Open Source Software
- a fan of Open Hardware too
I work as a Yocto / Embedded Linux Developer at Belden. I'm part of the team maintaining an internal Yocto-based Linux distribution for industrial networking devices such as routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, with a focus on reliable production systems and long-term maintainability.
I also work on platform security topics such as secure boot, measured boot, software update integrity, and European cybersecurity requirements such as the Cyber Resilience Act.
In the past:
- I was a founder of Foxtron GmbH, where I worked as a consultant and external employee for other companies.
- I worked as an embedded Linux CI/CD consultant with Yocto for Siemens Building Products.
- I did full-stack web development for a high precision GPS tracker used by AGRIDEA and Switzerland's Federal Office for the Environment. It helps protect sheep herds against wolves, using Django, Leaflet, PostgreSQL, and TimescaleDB.
- I created embedded Linux firmware for a gateway used to remotely control a self-service charging and drop-off station for electric bicycles, using Buildroot and an LTE modem.
- I created many small electronics boards used in vault chambers of Swiss banks.
I'm also a member of these associations:
- QueerBienne, the LGBTIQ+ association of Biel/Bienne, where I previously served as a board member.
- Samariter Biel Madrestsch, a first-aid association where I was previously active as a volunteer.
